Grades
In order to access your
online grades, please email me for your user name & password. If you would like
a
grade sheet sent home or emailed to you, please email me at chautcao@yahoo.com.
I update regularly (not everyday) and
encourage students and parents to check the grades regularly. Mistakes can
happen, so please contact me if you have questions and your child should keep
ALL work and exams in a binder.
GRADING:
Overall grades are weighted in my class. Exams are 60%, homework is 20% and
class work is 20%. As I enter in grades, the overall grade may change very
little or quite a bit, depending on the assignment. (For example, Warm-Ups that
are 10 points do not have the same value as a quiz that is worth 10 points.)

QUIZ / TEST
CORRECTIONS:
If your child receives a "D" or an "F" on any of my
exams, they have the option to do corrections for half-credit. Any incorrect
problems your child corrects, with the work shown, on a separate piece of paper
will be re-corrected and given half-credit. THE
HIGHEST GRADE THEY CAN EARN ON CORRECTIONS IS A "C" (70%).
This is because all students who earn an "A", "B", or
"C" cannot do corrections. I encourage corrections so that your child
will have an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, and earn credit for it.
It will not hurt their grade if they choose not to do corrections. THIS
IS THE EASIEST WAY FOR YOUR CHILD TO RAISE THEIR GRADE IN MY CLASS IF THEY DO
NOT TEST WELL.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS:
Assignments turned in late will be marked as "LATE" and earn at most
3/5 points, which is and "D", but at least it will not be
considered Missing. Turning homework in for 3 points is better than earning 0
points. IT IS IMPORTANT
FOR YOUR CHILD TO DO THE HOMEWORK DAILY AND TURN IT IN ON TIME.
